Green Cove Springs serves as the County seat. Nestled along the banks of the St. Johns River is south central Clay County. The city offers new and historic residential and business district areas. Spring Park illuminates the city's new beautiful municipal park and pier and showcases the natural springs for which the city is named. Green Cove Springs is still considered a walking community with many great festivals celebrated here.

Magnolia Point Golf and Country Club, located on the outskirts of GCS, hosts the southern most golf course community in the county with tennis courts and a Junior-Olympic swimming pool. In addition the GCS area incorporates Reynolds Park Yacht Center, the quaint Clay Theater, Clay County Agricultural Fair and numerous other activities!
